![]() ![]() Even better old TP LINK TL-WR841N, which gives lesser issues, at least better than this. How many more bugs are even waiting to show up upon usage. This is still better than the overrated TPLINK C6 and C80 which supports only 4 channels in that band. Hence not suitable to use in highly congested apartment. Most important: No 160MHz support on 5GHz. Unable to find all devices in parental control list.ġ0. Bandwidth control feature is not supported.ĩ. Internet stops immediately across devices.Ħ. DHCP reservation bug: Tried adding all the devices/few devices to dhcp reservation list. This issue occurs at random and I am not able to reproduce.Ĥ. This time I had to turn that MAC filter off so the device was able to connect back. After running alright for few days, one of the device refuses to connect to the 5GHz band citing authentication problem. MAC binding bug: I use MAC binding with all my routers. This issue occurs at random and I am not able to reproduce.ģ. Remove the parental control, at internet is back. Parental control bug: While running the router with parental control enabled on a device, all of a sudden I notice that internet stops working in all other devices. Thats the only reason 4 stars for this average joe.Ģ. Maybe untested hardware? At least if you get a properly working device this product has farthest reaching 5Ghz band ever seen on this price range. When tried from next room the signal sometimes vanishes, sometimes shows <-78dB. This time the link speed was only 340mbps near 1ft from the router and internet speed of 40mbps signal level at <-60dB. Returned the product due to another issue. So the 5Ghz band pretty much head to head with 2.4Ghz band in range. Even at farthest corners link speed of 100mbps, full ISP speeds, -60dB signal strength. Near the router it got full 867mbps link, -30dB signal and full ISP speed. The 5GHz band performance varies: I used the first router for some days, got great coverage with 5GHz band. Also there is a lot of interference in 2GHz band in this are and very less to not at all congestion in 5GHz band.ġ. Currently the router is updated to latest firmware as checked from Linksys website. I have a pretty basic fiber connection of 60mbps and a fleet of ~10 devices running at home. All these big reviews but this is just another disappointing router. I used to be a fan of the Linksys brand, never used it myself but wanted to have it someday. Quite disappointed as I was looking forward to have the same for added security.Overall quite an ok system with avearge performance. ( Not a big issue though incase the singal gets weak further the device gets connected to 2.4 ghz network)2) Upon configuring in mesh mode most of the safety features like wifi mac filtering.etc gets disabled. As soon as i step out of the office and cross a wall the wifi singal drops to last two bars. The speed inside the office is very good. For instance I have a router at my personal office. Below are my observations. Please note that I connected all my child nodes via Ethernet ( gigabit ) instead of wifi.Pros :1) Setup was fairly easy !2) Configuring child nodes was a breeze ( but after a firmware upgrade !!! Which tuk a while to do.)3) Router works at a warm temperature ( considering my existing dlink & mi 2.4 ghz wifi routers )4) The wifi coverage of 2.4 ghz band is very good.5) Upon any issues with Ethernet the router gets connected to other nodes via wifi as failsafe.Cons :1) The wifi signal penetration of 5 ghz is very average. I first got one router to test the 5 GHZ performance and found it to be satisfactory!! Later I purchased another three routers to put them in a simple mesh system. Upon getting fibenet i was looking forward to upgrade my WIFI.I live in a two storey house with combined area of about 5000 - 5500 sq.ft. My existing 2.4 ghz wifi setup was out of date. I was using basic BSNL broadband connection and recently upgraded to fibernet. Simple Mesh wifi system with very limited features !!! Router, Ethernet Cable, QYG, Power Supply Laptop, Personal Computer, Tablet, Smart Television, Smartphone Linksys, Linksys Pte Ltd, Shaw Towers, 100 Beach Road, 13-04/07, Singapore 189702 Netgear 4-Stream Wi-Fi 6 Router (RAX10), AX1800 Wireless Speed (Up to 1.8 Gbps), 1,500 sq. ![]()
